Renewal timing
Certifications are valid for 3 years and must be renewed. Start your renewal at least 45 days before your expiration date. Late submissions can incur fees.
Renewal hours
Renewal totals and the ethics-hours portion are changing. Expirations on or after July 1, 2026 use a higher renewal-hour total with more ethics hours. Earlier expirations use the prior structure. Confirm the structure that applies to your expiration date directly with the credentialing body.
Initial training is not renewal training
A training option approved for initial certification does not automatically count toward renewal. Renewal is tracked on a separate official list.
Submitting your renewal
Renewal applications are submitted through Certemy. Document your continuing education hours, ethics hours, and any required Medication Supported Recovery hours before you submit.
Confirm current renewal requirements directly with the credentialing body before registering for renewal training or submitting your renewal.
